Why a storybook beats another toy
By their first birthday most children already have more toys than they can play with. A personalised first birthday book is different: it is about them. Their name, their curls, the way they clap when the song comes on — drawn as a story they will ask for again and again.
It is also a gift for the parents. Years later, it is the one present from the first birthday that is still on the shelf.
What goes into a first birthday book
You choose the moments; we turn them into illustrated pages with words written just for the child.
- Who they are right now — favourite food, song, toy and the faces they make
- Their funny little habits and first words
- The people who love them: parents, grandparents, cousins, the family pet
- Big moments of the year — first steps, first trip, first festival
- A wish or a value for the year ahead, from the person gifting the book
Gifting it as an aunt, uncle or family friend
You don't need to be the parent to make one. Ask the parents for a few photos and three or four favourite moments — or send us what you have and we'll guide you. The draft comes to you for approval before anything is printed.
Plan around the birthday date
Every book is drawn from scratch, so tell us the birthday date when you message. We'll tell you honestly whether it's possible before you commit.
